About Us

What is IllinoisParents.org?

Bullying is common, even in elementary school! The American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry (AACAP) suggests that it's important to help both the bully and the victim. Click here!

Who Funds IllinoisParents.org?

Funding from the Academic Development Institute (ADI) in Lincoln, Illinois, currently supports IllinoisParents.org. ADI works with families, schools, and communities so that all children may become self-directed learners, avid readers, and responsible citizens, respecting themselves and those around them. ADI's vision is of an American landscape filled with distinct school communities reflecting the hopes and dreams of the people intimately attached to them.

Funding for IllinoisParents.org was provided originally by the Illinois State Library, a Division of the Office of the Secretary of State, using federal Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) funding provided to Lincoln Trail Libraries System, which subcontracted with the ERIC Clearinghouse on Elementary and Early Childhood Education (predecessor to the Clearinghouse on Early Education and Parenting) at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign to create a statewide information service for parents called NPIN Illinois.

Other funding partners have included Project Success and Voices for Illinois Children; the Office of Professional Development & Public Service, College of Education, University of Illinois; and the Illinois Violence Prevention Authority.
